1897 Morgan Silver Dollar PCGS MS65 – Better Philly Date Lustrous White Gem!

The 1897 Philadelphia issue Morgan Silver Dollar is a much better (tougher) date to find in grades of MS 64 and finer. It is almost 4x scarcer in MS65 than it is in MS64

Looking at the populations at PCGS, there are 8917 coins graded MS64 and 2420 coins graded MS65. 

Compare this date to the 1886 which has 58,333 coins graded MS64 and 20,254 coins graded MS65. 

Or compare to the 1879-S which has 50,012 in MS64 and 29,440 in MS65
