1950 US Proof Set OGP w/Cellophane Bags Loose – Not Stapled Rare 51k Produced (Lot 580 internal use)

The 1950 Proof Set was the first Post-WW II Proof Set minted after the US mint halted productions during World War II

The 1950 Proof Set saw a scant 51,386 sets produced and it is estimated less than 10% of the original mintage remains in it’s Original Government Packaging or OGP today in 2026

All 5 coins are in the original cellophane packaging but it appears the staple that held the 5 coins together in a bundle, has either came loose or was removed so the 5 cellophane packages are all loose. The coins remain inside the packaging.

Some discoloration can be seen on the cellophane on a couple of the coins, especially the quarter. Some of the coins have started to tone a little but best as can be seen loooking through the transluscent packaging it is clear to see most have brilliant finishes and good eye appeal
