1904-O Morgan Silver Dollar Snow White Luster PCI Green Gem BU Video

Holdered in an older late 80s, early 90s Green Label, (or 10 Digit Cert), PCI Slab, I almost never apply the term Gem BU to a raw coin, or to one in a third world slab. I have to be very confident the coin would grade a 5 or higher for me to even consider applying this term to a raw coin.

These older green border PCI Slabs from the 1986-1989 timeframe tend to be more conservative and generally run closely in line with the 2 top tier grading services, back then and today. While I dont believe this coin would grade the lofty 67 PCI assigned to this coin, I do think it is a lock Gem grade in the 65 range with a shot at a plus and an outside shot at a 6. This is just my opinion of course.

Very clean fields and cheek along with all other primary focal points. Very strong and if not full strike. The luster is very good, but probably not quite to the level one of the top two companies would command to make it all the way up to 6 or 7. Outside shot at 6, but should be a lock 5 is my opinion.

I have owned hundreds of Green Border PCI coins over the years, and seen hundreds more than that. I dont recall seeing a Morgan Dollar in a Green Border PCI Slab previously graded 67.

Nice original coin with excellent, free-flowing original mint luster. The coin’s luster is rich and full and doesnt appear to have ever been dipped. No signs of cleaning, harsh cleaning, scratches, rim or surface issues or any other type of abuse.

The Green Label PCI Era is well known as being their best days. Known for conservative grading that, at the time, was in line or maybe a half tier under the top two or three major third party grading service at the time.The more modern PCI slabs are a joke compared to the service they provided when they first appeared on the scene during rhe infant years of modern TPG
