1903-S 90% Silver Barber Half Dollar PCGS VF30 Sweet Original Tough Semi-Key

 This tougher 1903-S Barber Half Dollar freshly graded PCGS VF30 exhibits a wonderful battleship grey patina. Fully original surfaces are graced by strong detail certainly within the Choice VF Grade as assigned and approaching XF level, albeit and agreeably just shy, the coin wouldnt look out of place in a 35 holder. Full, bold LIBERTY with strong forehead hair and diadem detail along with sharply defined, three dimensional obverse stars. On the reverse, note the eagle wing feathers stretch to the tips and the neck and claw feathers are more than 75% full. The horizontal shield lines are bold even in the pesky top right facing corner. No real original mint luster remains at this level which is the most likely factor utilized to determine the fragile line of separation between VF30, 35 and the XF levels.
