1879-S Reverse of 78 Morgan Silver Dollar Lustrous PCI MS60 Rare in BU VAM9?

Scarce Variety 1879-S, Reverse of 1878 in a BU Grade housed in an older Tan PCI Slab labeled as VAM9 by a previous owner.

Tough to find in any grade but the price goes way up once you get to the uncirculated grades with Greysheet Bid/Ask in the very lowest grade of 60 at $385/$500

Lustrous coin, fully uncirculated with scattered contact marks and a few hair lines

PCI began grading coins in 1986. This was a significant year in the coin grading industry, as it marked the emergence of third-party grading services, which helped standardize the grading process and improve trust in coin valuations

PCI eventually went on to change ownership a handful of times (including having sold to Hallmark before repurchasing the brand and switching to the gold borders a few years later).

The more modern PCI slabs are a joke compared to the service they provided when they first appeared on the scene during the infant years of modern TPG
