Factoid: The 1907, with an Original Mintage of only 1,475 Pieces Claims The LOWEST Mintage of ALL Proof Indian Head Cent Strikes dated 1878 through 1909. You have to go back to the 1877 Issue to find a Lower Mintage (900 strikes).

Purchased at live auction back in 2022, this coin was part of a raw 16 coin lot when long time Derry, NH Dealer, Martin Brunelle liquidated a signifcant part of his inventory holdings. The 16 coins in that lot were almost all Problem-Free, Original and Uncirculated specimens ranging from 1880 to 1908. within that lot there turned out to be a 1891 DDO FS-101 S-1, (which I still have). It was unknown to have existed and not advertised in that lot. One other highlight from that group was this coin. There were two 1907’s in the lot. I will be the first to admit I thoiught they were both business strikes. They both graded 64 RB but this one turned out to be a proof

Beautiful and very lustrous coin thats more red than brown; brick red highlights  with a thin crust patina that speaks to how original this coin is. Gorgeous eye appeal  that needs to be examined and held in hand to truly appreciate the eye appeal, originality and colors which are best seen when held in hand and tilted in the light
